ROUNDUP: D’Acunto, Panthers head past Mustangs

Alexa D’Acunto scored on a header off a corner kick by Sammi Sawicki with eight minutes to play Tuesday to give Palo Verde’s girls soccer team a 1-0 victory at Shadow Ridge.

The win helped the Panthers (11-5-3, 10-3-0 Northwest League) jump ahead of the Mustangs and into second place in the league with one match to play.

Stacie Gubler earned the shutout for Palo Verde.

Desert Oasis 3, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Elizabeth Baca, Megan Stanton and Ambyr Bernhard each had a goal to help the Diamondbacks blank the Bengals and clinch a spot in the Sunset Region playoffs.

Kaylaann Saucedo posted a three-save shutout for Desert Oasis.

Durango 1, Sierra Vista 1 — At Durango, Sophia Omidiji scored with about 15 minutes to play to lift the Mountain Lions to a tie with the Trailblazers.

Bailey Allen scored a second-half goal for Durango.

Bishop Gorman 8, Clark 0 — At Gorman, Haley Wingender notched three goals, and Mia Moore had a goal and two assists as the Gaels rolled past the Chargers.

Allie Arguello, Kylie Kircher, Charlotte Brascia and Sierra Doehrmann each added a goal for Gorman, which got two assists from Chloe Tucker.

Sam Higgins and Angelica Pawlowski combined on the shutout.

Spring Valley 9, Western 0 — At Western, Markie Henderson had three goals and two assists to lead the Grizzlies by the Warriors.

Whitney Carr added two goals and an assist for Spring Valley, and teammate Alyssa Gomez supplied a goal and three assists.

Hillary Oliva, Valeria Ochoa and Bailey Boyack also scored for Spring Valley, which got a two-save shutout from Megan Delaney.

Cimarron-Memorial 8, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Ryann Abeyta tallied two goals and an assist as the Spartans cruised past the Rattlers.

Kaycee Luke had a goal and an assist for Cimarron, which also got a goal each from Kaylen Dodson, Taylor Pinier, Tessa Sanchez, Mariah Olive and Maxene Fehlman.

Adriana Moreno notched two assists for Cimarron, and Celene Johnson and Ashlee Driver combined on the shutout.

Centennial 10, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Sienna Drizin had three goals, and Kassie Cerda scored twice to help the Bulldogs rout the Longhorns.

Kelsey Thein added a goal and an assist for Centennial, which got a goal each from Hanah Holt, Catlyn Rymarck, Hannah Alba and Shanel McDonnell.

Talia Barnes was in goal to claim the shutout.

Arbor View wins by forfeit — At Cheyenne, the Aggies won by forfeit over the Desert Shields.
