GIRLS SOCCER: Dwyer, Panthers hand Gaels first loss

Tessa Dwyer’s goal 12 minutes into the second half Thursday allowed host Palo Verde’s girls soccer team to hand Bishop Gorman its first loss of the season, 1-0.

Jordan Goyeau made three saves en route to the shutout for the Panthers.

Foothill 1, Eldorado 0 — At Foothill, Katherine Ballou’s first-half goal stood up as the Falcons nipped the Sundevils.

Marisa Milne was in goal for the shutout.

Basic 1, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Breana Moreira converted a free kick with 10 minutes left in the match to allow the Wolves to tie the Rams.

Marlene Godoy scored for Rancho.

Sunrise Mountain 2, Virgin Valley 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Briana Torres and Leslie Arellanos each scored a second-half goal to help the Miners top the Bulldogs.

Christina Lark made three saves en route to the shutout.

Desert Pines 4, Moapa Valley 1 — At Desert Pines, Genessis Martinez had a goal and two assists to guide the Jaguars by the Pirates.

Mariyah Espinoza, Deisy Lozano and Lizuly Mireles each added a goal for Desert Pines.

Moapa Valley benefitted from an own goal.

Coronado 6, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Ashley Thomas had two goals and three assists as the Cougars blanked the Gators.

Taylor Kornieck added a goal and an assist for Coronado, which also got goals from Michaela Morris, Carli Young and Ashley Comandatore.

Rachel Morris made four saves to earn the shutout.

Shadow Ridge 8, Durango 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Samantha Villa scored three goals to lead the Mustangs by the Trailblazers.

Sasha Villa scored twice, and Abigayle Esqueda, Danika Shupe and McKenna Filipovic each added a goal for Shadow Ridge, which got two assists from Stephanie Nava.

Jenna Gallagher was in goal for the shutout.

Tech 10, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Melissa Lopez had three goals and two assists, and Abrana Wielgosiak added two goals and four assists as the Roadrunners rolled over the Dragons.

Leslie Santos, Adriana Guzman, Marisol Limon, Rebeca Rivera and Valerie Webb also scored for Tech. Monica Figerora and Stephanie Newman each had two assists for the Roadrunners.

Estephania Perez was credited with the shutout.
