GIRLS SOCCER: Cheyenne blanks Pahrump Valley, moves into second place

Isel Acosta had a goal and an assist, and Cheyenne’s girls soccer team moved into second place in the Class 3A Sunset League with a 2-0 victory over host Pahrump Valley on Tuesday.

The teams entered the game tied for second place in the Sunset with 19 points.

Yadira Erives added a goal for the Desert Shields, who led 1-0 at halftime.

Shayna Thompson recorded the shutout with six saves.

Faith Lutheran 1, Palo Verde 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Holly Lindholm scored off an assist from Macee Barlow in the 58th minute to help the Panthers earn a draw with the Crusaders.

Isabella Gutierrez scored an unassisted goal in the first half for Faith Lutheran.

Cimarron-Memorial 1, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Kaitlyn Banks scored with 15 minutes left in the first half to tie the score, and the Mustangs held on to tie the Spartans.

Kaylee Nerio had Cimarron-Memorial’s goal.

Arbor View 6, Legacy 1 — At Arbor View, Deja Erickson scored three goals, and Sierra Vicente had a goal and two assists as the Aggies downed the Longhorns.

Hannah Ferrara and Madison Boyd also scored for Arbor View, and teammates Samantha Blanchard, Allyssa Larkin and Jolie Meyers each had an assist.

Gabriella Lancaster scored the lone goal for Legacy.

Eldorado 8, Valley 0 — At Eldorado, Brianna Duran had six goals and an assist as the Sundevils routed the Vikings.

Angelica Lamas added a goal and two assists, and Rosario Hernandez scored once for Eldorado. Nicole Pena had two assists for the Sundevils.

Dina Goc-Ong had the shutout.

Sunrise Mountain 4, Mojave 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Briana Torres-Chavez, Stephanie Plazola, Fatima Carrillo-Cornejo, and Irlanda Osuna-Arcineda each scored once as the Miners topped the Rattlers.

Brisa Pena-Martinez supplied two assists for Sunrise Mountain.

Iris Chavez scored on a free kick in the first half for Mojave.

Western 9, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Ellyson Reynada scored five goals as the Warriors routed the Jaguars.

Devany Marroquin and Katherine Realegeno each added two goals for Western.

Alejandra Alvarez-Torres had the shutout.
