GIRLS SOCCER: Barnum’s late goal gives Bulldogs tie with Warriors

Abbie Barnum scored twice, including the tying goal with less than a minute to play in the second half Friday to help Virgin Valley’s girls soccer team earn a 2-2 draw at Western.

Ellyson Reynada had a goal and an assist, and Melissa Hinojosa also scored for the Warriors.

Green Valley 1, Arbor View 0 — At Green Valley, Talia Lopez’s first-half goal enabled the Gators to edge the Aggies in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Kiyana Lopez made six saves to earn the shutout for Green Valley, which will face Coronado in the tournament championship at 1 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley.

Coronado 1, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Michaela Morris converted a first-half penalty kick to allow the Cougars to earn a tie with the Crusaders in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Kristi Chinn scored a first-half goal for Faith Lutheran.

Palo Verde 1, Centennial 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Hannah Coleman’s first-half goal off a free kick from 20 yards out lifted the Panthers by the Bulldogs in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Jordan Goyeau made three saves to earn the shutout for Palo Verde.

Shadow Ridge 1, Las Vegas 0 — At Green Valley, Abigayle Esqueda scored early in the second half to help the Mustangs take down the Wildcats in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Joey Wright had four saves en route to the shutout.

Desert Oasis 2, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Miah Strellnauer scored a second-half goal to lift the Diamondbacks over the Patriots.

Chelsey Nedza scored a first-half goal for Desert Oasis.

Giovanna Maisano scored for Liberty.

Basic 3, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Darby Cox, Erika Church and Zoe Ryan each scored a goal as the Wolves built a 3-0 lead and held off the Dragons.

Nichelle Gittisriboongul had two assists for Basic.

Angelique Deittrick scored both of Del Sol’s goals.

Legacy 8, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Cimarron, Nadia Hernandez had three goals and three assists to lead the Longhorns by the Spartans.

Tavia Wells, Diana Perea, Brittani Snook, Myra Velarde and Emma Singleton also scored for Legacy, which got two assists from Claire Singleton.

Jaymee Luke and Jenny Acendo scored for Cimarron.

Clark 7, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Darian Gambetta had three goals and two assists as the Chargers routed the Rams.

Dona Acirto had a goal and an assist, and Stephany Chavez, Alyssa Winslow and Maggie Mora each added a goal for Clark.

Eyker Millan and Jackie Gonzalez combined on the shutout.

Silverado 8, Durango 1 — At Silverado, Victoria Bravo scored three goals, and Kayla McGinnis added two goals and two assists as the Skyhawks blitzed the Trailblazers.

Taylor Petrillo added two goals, and Kylie Anderson scored once for Silverado.

Esmerelda Buenrostro scored for Durango.

Valley 0, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, the Vikings and Bengals played to a scoreless tie.

Valley’s Ajanique Reece and Bonanza’s Samantha Silva each recorded a shutout.
