ROUNDUP: Hernandez boys allow Miners to double up Chaparral

Sergio Hernandez netted the match-winning goal with 10 minutes remaining Thursday to lift Sunrise Mountain’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win at Chaparral.

Mario Hernandez also had a goal for the Miners.

Jose Zavala scored for the Cowboys.

Green Valley 2, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Robert Rodriguez scored a goal, and the Gators benefitted from an own goal to nip the Skyhawks.

Osmar Bolanos scored for Silverado.

Tech 3, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Fabian Vera netted two goals to lead the Roadrunners past the Patriots.

Eric Gonzalez also scored for Tech.

Danny Musovski notched Liberty’s lone score.

Foothill 2, Del Sol 1 — At Foothill, Rodrigo Ampuero and Max Weiland each had a goal as the Falcons nipped the Dragons.

Carlos Sedrano scored for Del Sol.

Coronado 13, Basic 1 — At Coronado, Jordan Yergensen scored three times and John DiFiore scored twice as the Cougars blitzed the Wolves.

Gitai Gazala, Parker Judd, Michael Smyth, Chance Phifer, Luke Sanford, Ariel Mizrahi, Eddie Jimenez and Tyler Goldstein added a goal apiece for Coronado.

Ishmael Zarco netted Basic’s goal.

Desert Pines 3, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, Jesus Lomeli scored two goals, and teammate Alexis Rojo’s goal with 15 minutes left allowed the Jaguars to edge the Pioneers.

Ezequiel Chavarria scored twice for Canyon Springs.

Valley 4, Rancho 2 — At Valley, Eric Sanchez, Anthony Grajeda and Alex Nixon each tallied a goal, and the Vikings took advantage of an own goal to down the Rams.

Cesar Escobar had two assists for Valley.

Juan Quiroz-Acosta and Aaron Ortiz each scored a goal for Rancho.

GIRLS

Pahrump Valley 5, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Sydney Sladek notched three goals and an assist, and the Trojans used four-second half goals to pull away from the Crusaders.

Sarah Dennis and Melissa Ewing also scored for Pahrump, which has outscored its opposition 58-0 in its last seven matches.

Boulder City 5, Virgin Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Gabriella Coreales, Ashlyn Jorgensen, Jana Williams, Tasja Tousamsis and Janika Ross all scored a goal as the Eagles blanked the Bulldogs.

Mikaela Stevens and Hailey Morgan combined on the shutout for Boulder City, which completed 3A Southern League play with a 6-0 record.
