ROUNDUP: Coronado edges Centennial in boys soccer

Heath Sanford scored in the final three minutes to lift Coronado’s boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over visiting Centennial on Tuesday.

Jake LeClaire and Anthony Loicanno each added a goal for the Cougars.

Matt Kurtz and Kevin Rogge each had a goal for Centennial.

Green Valley 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Tim Shue scored the game winner in the final minute to give the Gators a dramatic win in their season opener.

Shue scored twice for Green Valley, which also got a goal from Aric Bonner. Andrew Brendia had two assists and Mitchell Anderson one for the Gators.

Jorge Echavarria and Julien Letohic each scored for Sierra Vista, which got an assist from Christian Djordjevic.

Las Vegas 1, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, Joaquin Rivas scored 17 minutes into the second half to lift the Wildcats to the season-opening win.

Goalkeeper Rogelio Zaragoza had five saves for Las Vegas.

Cheyenne 3, Canyon Springs 2 — At Cheyenne, Raul Gutierrez, Jose Orellane and Heber Chavez each scored a goal to lift the Desert Shields past the Pioneers.

Andy Canizalez and Luis Campos each scored a second-half goal for Canyon Springs.

Basic 1, Spring Valley 0 — At Basic, Irving Cabrera scored in the first half and goalie Brandon Gonzalez recorded the shutout as the Wolves downed the Grizzlies.

Legacy 1, Rancho 1 — At Legacy, Christian Rodriguez scored in the second half to give the Longhorns a tie with the Rams.
Pablo Hernandez scored in the first half for Rancho.

Del Sol 5, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, the visiting Dragons rolled behind one goal each from five players.

Eric Beil had two assists for the Dragons, who got a goal apiece from David Hernandez, Mario Ovalle, Chris Calderon, Jesse Romero and Zack Deittrick and led 4-0 at halftime.

Clark 2, Chaparral 0 — At Clark, the Chargers scored one goal in each half on the way to a win in their season opener.

Salvador Bernal and Raul Castro scored for Clark on assists from Osman Zaliente and Miguel Gonzalez.

Oscar Gamez posted the shutout.

Bonanza 3, Valley 1 — At Valley, Chad Smith scored twice in the second half to lift the Bengals to the season-opening win.

Doug Williamson added a goal for Bonanza.

Ivan Chamorro scored Valley’s lone goal.

Eldorado 6, Arbor View 0 — At Eldorado, Josh Cormier, Aldo Flores and Moises Ramirez each scored twice to lead the Sundevils.

Goalkeepers Alberto Alvarez and Josh Sly combined on the shutout.

Virgin Valley 5, Boulder City 2 — At Mesquite, sophomore Carlos Rosales had four goals and an assist to lead the Bulldogs past the Eagles.

Danny Medina added a goal for Virgin Valley, which scored four goals in the second half.

Trevor Montgomery had both goals for Boulder City.

Foothill 6, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Christian Volesky had four goals and two assists as the Falcons shut out the Diamondbacks.

Dylan Rogo and Drew Suits each added a goal for Foothill.

James Brasier had the shutout for the Falcons.

Bishop Gorman 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, the Gaels got second-half goals from Cody Barnett, John Vaccaro and Austin Cain to beat the Spartans.

Goalie Jo Jo Vitale got the shutout for Gorman.

Palo Verde 5, Durango 0 — At Durango, Josh Leiserowitz scored three goals and had an assist as the Panthers blanked the Trailblazers.

Francisco Rivero and Alex Shackley each scored for Palo Verde.

Colton McCann made four saves to earn the shutout.

Tech 7, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Luis Carranza recorded three goals and Jose Guiza scored two as the Roadrunners shut out the Rattlers.

Goalkeepers Abdel Rodriguez and Edgar Preciado combined on the shutout. Vidal Contreras and Eddie Lopez each added a goal for Tech.

Faith Lutheran 13, Lake Mead 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Ryan Sniezyk had three goals and five assists as the Crusaders routed the Eagles.

Chris Ortwein added three goals and one assist and Cameron Stimson, Wade Norman and Emron Ahmed each had two goals and an assist for Faith Lutheran.

Tyler Koerwitz added a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Marc Davies posted the shutout.
