ROUNDUP: Clark knocks off defending state champion Gorman

Salvador Bernal scored three goals Tuesday to lift Clark to a 3-2 road win over two-time defending state boys soccer champion Bishop Gorman.

Gorman’s Ramak Roohani scored with about five minutes to play to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Chargers held on.

Austin Cain also scored for the Gaels.

Valley 3, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Ivan Chamorro scored twice as the Vikings handed the Sundevils their first loss.

Joey Lopez also scored for Valley.

Aldo Flores had Eldorado’s goal.

Pahrump Valley 6, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Damien Nelson netted three goals, and the Trojans scored five times in the second half in their win over the Diamondbacks.

Alex Fonseca, Martin Apolina and Jason Garcia each scored a goal for Pahrump.

Shane Lindemann made five saves to record the shutout.

Spring Valley 2, Western 0 — At Spring Valley, Mutaz Alghouleh broke a scoreless tie midway through the second half and Ricky Gonzalez added a goal in the final five minutes to lift the Grizzlies past the Warriors.

John Strand made five saves to earn the shutout.

Bonanza 5, Durango 1 — At Durango, the Bengals scored four second-half goals to break a 1-1 tie and beat the Trailblazers.

John Milne scored twice for Bonanza, and Chad Chawin, Chad Smith and Frazier Berman each added a goal.

Francisco Bautista scored for Durango.

Las Vegas 4, Rancho 1 — At Las Vegas, Jaime Toscano had a goal and an assist and the Wildcats scored three second-half goals to beat the Rams.

Las Vegas’ Joaquin Rivas, Danny Farias and Michael Boldry added goals.

Max Vargas scored in the first half for Rancho.

Chaparral 6, Canyon Springs 0 — At Chaparral, Francisco Sanchez scored four goals as the Cowboys stopped the Pioneers.

Jose Zavala and Erick Araujo each added a goal for Chaparral, which blew open the match with four goals in the second half.

Goalkeeper Anthony Lopez had three saves to get the shutout for Chaparral.

Boulder City 5, Moapa Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Bradley Nilsen scored two goals to lead the Eagles past the Pirates.

Boulder City’s Keenan Sharp, Trevor Montgomery and Sean Phelps each scored a goal.

Goalkeepers Mitchell Lyons and Richard Pappas combined on the shutout.

The Meadows 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At The Meadows, Toby Warburton had two goals and an assist as the Mustangs stopped the Bulldogs.

Alex Karabachez had the other goal for The Meadows, which scored all three goals in the first half.

Ofir Barashy stopped four shots to gain the shutout.
