BOYS SOCCER: Sanchez’s last-second goal lifts Vikings over Spartans

Eric Sanchez scored two goals Monday, including the winner with 10 seconds left, to lift Valley’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 victory over visiting Cimarron-Memorial.

Sanchez’s first goal gave the Vikings a 1-0 halftime lead.

The Spartans’ Garrick Quackenbush tied the match in the second half.

In the final minute, Valley countered a Cimarron corner kick, and Marco Gonzales sent a through ball from the right side of the field ahead to Sanchez for the winning goal.

Las Vegas 1, Foothill 0 — At Las Vegas, Daniel Nunez’s goal with five minutes left lifted the Wildcats over the Falcons.

Enrique Adame made three saves to earn the shutout for Las Vegas.

Palo Verde 1, Coronado 0 — At Palo Verde, Nolan Sherwood scored a second-half goal to lift the Panthers past the Cougars.

Goalkeeper Nishesh Yadav stopped five shots to earn the shutout.

Clark 2, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Faith Lutheran, the Chargers and Crusaders played to a draw.

After a scoreless first half, Faith Lutheran’s Aiden Gross scored in the first five minutes of the second half. Clark’s Oscar Mata tied the game 10 minutes later.

The Crusaders took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Chase Carey midway through the half, but Mata’s second goal tied the game.

Bonanza 3, Durango 2 — At Durango, Michael Higgs scored two goals, including the winner with less than 10 minutes remaining, to push the Bengals past the Trailblazers.

Bryan Panameno scored in the first half for Bonanza

Oscar Rodriguez notched both Durango goals.

Green Valley 3, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, goalkeeper Bryant Peralta recorded five saves in the shutout as the Gators beat the Bulldogs.

Connor Malone, Alessandro Sanchez and Antonio Trama each scored for Green Valley.

Jeffrey Mullins, Nathan Hanuscin and Maliq Cooper supplied the assists.

Sierra Vista 4, Cheyenne 1 — At Sierra Vista, Joseph Pacheco scored twice to guide the Mountain Lions by the Desert Shields.

Erick Candido had a goal and an assist, and Giovanni D’Ascenzo also scored for Sierra Vista, which got two assists from Daniel Perez.

Guerros Benevides scored for Cheyenne.

Shadow Ridge 6, Rancho 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Matthew Camacho had two goals and two assists to lead the Mustangs over the Rams.

Jarell Yapching, Alex Pacheco, Jack Guynn and Drake Newton each added a goal for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Dominic Damato had two assists.

Arturo Gutierrez and Yosmar Villafana scored for Rancho.

Western 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Nathaniel Reyes scored twice to lead the Warriors to the win over the Rattlers.

Bruno Aleman added a goal for Western.

Spring Valley 7, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Spring Valley, Tyson Perkins had three goals and two assists to power the Grizzlies past the Trojans.

Andrew Bustios had a goal and two assists, and Sergio Borboa and Dennis Tayou each added a goal and an assist for Spring Valley, which got a goal from Julio Coizeau.

Jose Nunez scored twice, and Christian Aguilar added a goal for Pahrump.

Liberty 5, Arbor View 0 — At Liberty, Joey Hollimon had two goals and an assist, and Alex Camacho added a goal and two assists as the Patriots blanked the Aggies.

August Reich and Colton Cox also scored for Liberty.

Justin Lutes made seven saves to earn the shutout.

Canyon Springs 6, Basic 0 — At Canyon Springs, Ivan Adame had two goals and an assist, and Daniel Moran scored twice as the Pioneers rolled by the Wolves.

Brian Santa Cruz added a goal and an assist, and Jose Gonzalez also scored for Canyon Springs.

Raymond Ruano was in goal for the shutout.

Legacy 4, Desert Oasis 0 — At Legacy, Jose Ramirez, Abraham Acevedo, Daniel Mejia and Diego Gonzalez-Ruiz each scored once as the Longhorns blanked the Diamondbacks.

Juan Orpineda and Anthony Madden combined on the shutout for Legacy.

Eldorado 7, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Israel Hernandez scored three times to lift the Sundevils over the Skyhawks.

Eddie Mercado, Gabriel Pedraza, Heriberto Benitez and Marlon Vidales also scored for Eldorado.
