Roundup: Hunter Pate shoots 1-under to lead Gaels

Hunter Pate fired a 1-under-par 71 on Thursday at Spanish Trail to lead Bishop Gorman’s girls golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

The Gaels shot 336 as a team. Sierra Vista was second at 380, followed by Clark (382), Desert Oasis (401) and Spring Valley (476).

Clark’s Riana Mission was second at 74, and Sierra Vista’s Caroline Valle shot 75 to finish third.

Lani Potter leads Eagles to win

At Boulder Creek, Lani Potter shot 3-over-par 75 to lead Boulder City to the win in a Class 3A Sunrise League match.

Ryann Reese added an 80 for the Eagles, who shot 357 as a team to finish 28 strokes ahead of second-place Tech.

Tech’s Cassidy Phelan was third individually at 84.

Coronado wins Southeast match

At Black Mountain, Sami Penor shot 2-under-par 74, and Coronado had the top four finishers to roll to victory in a Southeast League match.

Crystle Querol was second at 76, Victoria Estrada shot 77 and Gabby Denunzio carded a 79 for the Cougars, who had a team mark of 306.

Foothill was second at 402, and Green Valley was third at 414.

Green Valley’s Kelsye Kares was fifth individually with an 86.
