GOLF: Meeks leads Palo Verde to Southwest League victory

Cameron Meeks shot a 2-under-par 70 at Bear’s Best on Tuesday to help Palo Verde’s boys golf team win a Southwest League match.

The Panthers, who also got a 71 from Jack Trent, shot 380 as a team. Bishop Gorman was second with 394, followed by Shadow Ridge at 462.

The Mustangs’ Tanner Johnson shot 74.

Gorman’s Christian James carded a 75, and teammate Mitchell Abbott shot 76.

Eagles win Sunrise match

At Wildhorse, Kyler Atkinson shot a 7-over 77 to help Boulder City to victory in a Division I-A Sunrise League match.

The Eagles had a team score of 441. Virgin Valley was second at 468, and Moapa Valley took third at 498.

Virgin Valley’s Hogan Fowles shot 78.

Tech’s Deylin Lees had a 79.

Coronado captures Southeast match

At Legacy Golf Club, Jalen Hodges shot a 1-under 71 to help Coronado win a Southeast League match.

The Cougars had a team score of 383. Foothill was second at 436, and Green Valley took third at 479.

Grant McKay carded a 74, and Ethan Bozner shot 75 for Coronado.

Green Valley’s Ty Klabacka and Eldorado’s Matt Manganello each shot 76.

Silverado claims Northeast match

At Los Prados, Matthew McClure and Thomas Kirchner each shot 4-over 74 to help Silverado to victory in a Northeast League match.

Silverado had a team score of 431. Canyon Springs was second at 573, nine strokes better than Valley.

Liberty’s Patrick Dao shot 78.

Canyon Springs’ Dominic David shot 83.
