The Skyhawks and Wildcats are jockeying for position in the playoff race. Silverado currently holds the Sunrise League’s No. 7 playoff seed, while the Wildcats are eighth in the league.

Thursday — Foothill at Green Valley, 3:30 p.m.

The Falcons have been a surprise in the Sunrise League behind the pitching of Andrew Hauck, and currently sit in third place at 6-2. Green Valley has rebounded after a slow start, and the Gators are 6-3 in the league.

Tuesday — Foothill at Basic, 3:30 p.m.

Two teams sitting near the top of the Sunrise League standings square off in what could be a preview of a postseason matchup.

Wednesday — Bishop Manogue at Shadow Ridge (2), noon

The Mustangs have punished softballs all season against Southern Nevada opponents, and get a peak of what the North has to offer when Reno’s biggest private school comes to town for a doubleheader.

Saturday — Liberty at Silverado, 10 a.m.

Capping quite the week in Sunrise League play, the Skyhawks want to show that they are a legit contender. The Patriots have been an enigma, going 2-3 outside of league, but 5-1 in league play.

Saturday — Coronado at Desert Oasis, 10 a.m.

Two teams with a break in league action, the Cougars travel across the I-15 to take on the slugging Diamondbacks in the kind of fun match-up that doesn’t happen often once league play gets underway.

Saturday — Green Valley vs. Foothill at Municipal, 9:45 a.m.

The Gators and Falcons represent two of the top teams in the Sunrise League and they square off in a dual meet.

Friday-Saturday — Las Vegas Track Classic at Desert Oasis

The rest of the varsity events start at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Defending champions Bishop Gorman (boys) and Green Valley (girls) are among the teams entered along with perennial power Centennial.
