The senior forward had 29 points and 14 rebounds in a 46-34 win over Western and 23 points and 12 rebounds in a 45-24 win over Pahrump Valley.

HEAD OF THE CLASS

ARBOR VIEW — Boys bowler Cameron Collins rolled games of 222, 212 and 259 for a 693 series in a 9-0 win over Legacy in the first round of the Sunset Region tournament. Flag football player Stacie Flores had 10 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass on offense, and had nine tackles, two interceptions, including one for a touchdown, and two pass break-ups to help the Aggies to wins over Western, Bonanza and Virgin Valley.

BONANZA — Boys basketball player D.J. Fletcher averaged 15 points in three games to help the Bengals to a 2-1 record, including wins over Tech and Rancho.

CIMARRON-MEMORIAL — Girls basketball player Shauntel Efferson made six 3-pointers and had 18 points against Centennial.

CORONADO — Girls basketball player Kayla Watterson had six points and six rebounds, including the game-winning basket with two seconds left, in a 43-41 win over Rancho and 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 58-38 win over Green Valley.

DESERT OASIS — Boys basketball player Talga Miyano averaged six points, 3.3 rebounds and two assists in a three-game span that included a 57-45 win over Shadow Ridge. Girls basketball player Ashlynn Sharp had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a 59-41 win over Shadow Ridge.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Boys basketball player Zach Friel scored 26 points in a 64-62 overtime win over Mojave and averaged 13.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in three league wins. Girls basketball player Kim Munro had six points, 13 rebounds and four assists in a 61-37 win over Boulder City.

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Boys basketball player Connor LeBoeuf had 30 points, nine steals and seven rebounds against Spring Mountain.

PALO VERDE — Boys basketball player Ja Morgan had 16 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals in an 80-75 win over Durango and 28 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 70-62 win over Legacy. Flag football player Alyssa Tygh was 41-for-73 passing for 345 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 78 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries in the Panthers’ three wins over Spring Valley, Cheyenne and Moapa Valley.

SIERRA VISTA — Boys bowler Jopfel Gafate rolled a 707 series to help the Mountain Lions to a 9-0 win over Tech in the opening round of the Division I-A state tournament.
