HEAD OF THE CLASS: Martell’s seven TDs lead Gaels to sixth consecutive state title

The sophomore quarterback threw six touchdown passes and rushed for another score to lead the Gaels to a 70-28 win over Reed in the Division I state championship game. It was Gorman’s sixth consecutive title.

The junior guard had 18 points and hit a 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds to play to seal a 45-44 win over Cimarron-Memorial. Siaki was 7-for-12 from the field in the game.

The freshman went undefeated at the Liberty Duals, recording five pins at 113 pounds. He had pins over a pair of wrestlers that placed in the top four at state last season.

The sophomore running back rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns on 16 carries in a 38-7 victory over Bonanza.

ADELSON SCHOOL — Boys basketball player Jake Buchman averaged 17 points to make the all-tournament team at the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.

ARBOR VIEW — Flag football player Francesca D’Arienzo rushed for 273 yards and three touchdowns and recorded 15 tackles in two games.

BONANZA — Boys basketball player Jamal Logan averaged 19 points and three steals in three games. Flag football player Bree Hernandez-Silva rushed for 74 yards and had a touchdown pass against Shadow Ridge.

BOULDER CITY — Flag football player Paige Buettner had 11 tackles and three sacks and scored three touchdowns in wins over Silverado and Valley. Wrestler Mike Morelli went 7-0 with seven pins for the week.

CENTENNIAL — Boys basketball player Dominic Jackson-Anasson had 12 points in a 90-69 win over Liberty. Girls basketball player Nene Wells had seven steals, four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in a 59-53 victory over Liberty.

CHEYENNE — Boys basketball player Joseph Rose had 20 points and 15 rebounds against Legacy.

CIMARRON-MEMORIAL — Flag football player Logan Delong had a total of 14 catches for 211 yards and six touchdowns in victories over Palo Verde and Spring Valley.

CORONADO — Girls bowler Keola Hanashiro-Meola had a 601 series, including a 230 game, in a 9-0 victory over Green Valley. Boys bowler Matt Baker rolled a 244 game against Green Valley.

DESERT OASIS — Boys basketball player Drevin Cannon had a total of 37 points and was 12-for-14 from the free-throw line in wins over Sierra Vista and Eldorado. Girls basketball player Mikala Kirby had 23 points, four rebounds and two assists in a 62-43 win over Sierra Vista.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Boys basketball player Blake Bell averaged 12.8 points and four assists to lead the Crusaders to a 4-1 record. Girls basketball player Haley Vinson averaged 14.3 points over four games.

GREEN VALLEY — Girls basketball player Gracie Garcia averaged 10 points and three rebounds for the week. Boys basketball player Romello Jones had 30 points and 13 rebounds against Del Sol.

THE MEADOWS — Boys basketball player Max Hisatake averaged 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Mustangs to a 2-1 record and second-place finish at the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Girls basketball player Kiley Murphy averaged 12.6 points at the River Valley Tournament in Mohave, Ariz. Boys basketball player Connor LeBoeuf averaged 12.2 points at the Southwest Rotary Classic in Yuma, Ariz.

QUEST ACADEMY — Girls basketball player Brianna Osorio had 18 points against Canyon Springs.

SIERRA VISTA — Wrestler Caroline Sauder placed third in the Fear the Fang tournament. Boys basketball player Maka Ellis averaged 14 points over four games.

SILVERADO — Boys bowler Seth Georgelos had a 512 series in a victory over Valley.
