The senior sprinter was the Outstanding Male Athlete at the Heitkotter Invitational at Faith Lutheran. Dobson set a meet record of 10.86 seconds in the 100-meter dash and also ran on the winning 400 and 800 relay teams. The 400 relay team also set a meet record.

The senior jumper cleared 7 feet in the high jump to set a meet record at the Heitkotter Invitational at Faith Lutheran.

GIRLS TRACK

Ashlie Blake

The senior thrower set two meet records at the Heitkotter Invitational at Faith Lutheran and was named the meet’s Outstanding Female Athlete.

Blake had record-setting throws of 50 feet, 5½ inches in the shot put and 153-6 in the discus.

HEAD OF THE CLASS

ARBOR VIEW — Girls track athlete Jocelyn Jordan set a meet record of 36 feet, 8 inches to win the triple jump at the Heitkotter Invitational. Boys track athlete Dakota Jennings set a meet record to win the discus at the Heitkotter Invitational with a mark of 146-10.

CANYON SPRINGS — Boys swimmer Jacob Rondon won the 100-yard freestyle (53.6 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.42) against Silverado.

CIMARRON-MEMORIAL — Boys volleyball setter Nate Starlin had a total of 10 aces, four kills and 39 assists in matches against Chaparral and Cheyenne.

CLARK — Baseball player Ryan Ebel allowed two runs and had 10 strikeouts and also hit a double in a 6-4 win over Sunrise Mountain.

DESERT OASIS — Boys golfer Blake Whittlesy led the Diamondbacks with a 41 in a nine-hole match against Centennial at Paiute. Girls track athlete Aria Paxton cleared 4 feet, 8 inches to place second in the high jump in the freshman/sophomore division of the Trophy Invitational in Laguna Beach, Calif.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Boys track athlete Mark Rubalcaba set a meet record to win the long jump (23 feet, 2½ inches) and was second in the triple jump (46-8) at the Heitkotter Invitational. Girls track athlete Cayla Nikodemus set a meet record in the long jump (17-7) and won the high jump (5-0) at the Heitkotter Invitational.

GREEN VALLEY — Girls pole vaulter Rachel Buck cleared 10 feet, 6 inches at the Valley relays, helping the Gators win the team title.

LEGACY — Boys swimmer Isaiah Magsino posted a time of 53.37 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, and had a mark of 1:59.69 in the 200 individual medley. Girls diver Chelsea Stephens scored 108.9 against Centennial.

PALO VERDE — Baseball catcher Yodai Nakamura was 5-for-10 with two doubles, six RBIs and four runs for the week, and also threw out 80 percent of attempted base stealers. Softball catcher Brooke Stover went 6-for-6 with five runs, five RBIs and two doubles in wins over Foothill and Green Valley.

RANCHO — Baseball pitcher Josh Mill threw a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Arbor View.

SHADOW RIDGE — Baseball player Francisco Robles hit .464 with 15 RBIs through the first 10 games.

SILVERADO — Boys track athlete Ryan Crame set a meet record in winning the 200-meter dash (22.21 seconds).
