HEAD OF THE CLASS: Adams’ big games help Mojave boys to wins

The senior guard made six 3-pointers and had 38 points to lead the Rattlers to an 80-71 win over Bonanza in the championship game of the Bulldog Invitational in Mesquite. Adams, the tournament Most Valuable Player, also had 41 points earlier in the week against Sierra Vista.

Green Valley

The senior forward hit five 3-pointers and scored 29 points in a 73-51 win over Silverado. She also had six rebounds and four steals.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Neshaune' Franklin

Chaparral

The senior running back rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cowboys to a 33-27 home victory over Desert Pines.

WRESTLING

Andres Bonifaz

Cimarron-Memorial

The senior went 5-0 with four pins at 132 pounds to lead the Spartans to the championship at the Mustang Stampede at Shadow Ridge.

HEAD OF THE CLASS

CENTENNIAL — Boys basketball player Jake Hutchings scored 24 of his 30 points in the second half of a 77-61 win over Palo Verde. Girls basketball player Justice Ethridge had 17 points in a 68-24 victory over Palo Verde.

CORONADO — Boys bowler Austin Czyzyk rolled a personal-best 237 game in a 7-2 victory over Rancho.

DESERT OASIS — Boys bowler Zachery Dobbs rolled a 656 series, including a 245 game, in a win over Cimarron-Memorial. Flag football running back Izriah Hodson rushed for a total of 203 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries against Shadow Ridge and Las Vegas.

FOOTHILL — Wrestler Wyatt English placed first at 138 pounds at the Lawrence Vigil Memorial Invitational at Arbor View.

MOJAVE — Flag football player Raven Williams rushed for a touchdown and had an interception in a 6-0 victory over Eldorado. She also returned an interception for a touchdown against Del Sol.

PALO VERDE — Girls basketball player Paulina Silcox had a total of 44 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in two games.

RANCHO — Wrestler Ishmael Dojaquez improved his record to 23-0.

ROUND MOUNTAIN — Girls basketball player Alyssa Hanks had 26 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots in a 48-31 victory over Coleville.

SHADOW RIDGE — Flag football player Victora Tolle passed for 230 yards, rushed for 40 yards and had a hand in seven touchdowns in wins over Rancho and Desert Oasis.

SIERRA VISTA — Girls basketball player Shania Harper averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds in victories over Boulder City, Pahrump Valley and Mojave. Boys basketball player Tanner Lewis had 13 points, including three key free throws in the second overtime of a 67-64 victory over Mojave.
