Bryce Odegard, Pahrump Valley
The senior placed first in the Sunset Region race at the Red Rock Invitational at Floyd Lamb Park. Odegard covered the 3-mile course in 15 minutes, 36 seconds.

Raquel Chavez-Velazquez, Basic
The junior placed first in the Sunrise Region race at the Red Rock Invitational at Floyd Lamb Park. Chavez-Velazquez won the 3-mile race in 18 minutes, 59 seconds.

TyRay Collins, Chaparral
The senior two-way standout scored two touchdowns and intercepted three passes in a 14-6 road win over Bonanza. Collins rushed for 128 yards on 10 carries, including TD runs of 41 and 15 yards.

Girls Golf
Sami Penor, Coronado
The senior shot a 2-under-par 34 and tied for medalist honors Thursday to lead the three-time defending state champions past Palo Verde in a dual meet at Anthem.

Boys Soccer
Corrigan Neville, Bishop Gorman
The senior had six goals and an assist in five games to help the Gaels start the season undefeated and win the Howell Memorial Tournament in Reno. He scored in Gorman’s 1-0 victory over Coronado in the championship game.

Alysa Caso, Coronado
The junior scored five goals and had an assist to help the Cougars go 3-0-1 at the Howell Memorial Tournament in Reno. She finished the weekend with the most goals and points (11) in Southern Nevada.

The freshman posted a 3-0 singles record to lead the Pirates to a 13-5 home win over Eldorado.

Summer Stadtlander, Faith Lutheran
The freshman went 4-0 in singles in a pair of victories. Stadtlander was 2-0 in a 12-6 win over Moapa Valley and 2-0 in a 14-4 victory over Foothill.

The senior led her team to a 6-0 start and played a huge role offensively in helping the Cougars secure the Gator Classic championship at Green Valley High.
