Wilson, Green help Mountain Lions blank Grizzlies

Sierra Vista sophomores Taz Wilson and Justin Green combined for 171 yards of offense and two touchdowns as the Mountain Lions (2-4, 2-3 Southwest) earned a 14-0 home win over Spring Valley (2-4, 2-3) on Thursday.
Green capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run to put the Mountain Lions up 7-0 with 7:06 left in the first half.
In the fourth quarter, Sierra Vista took advantage of good field position after a 10-yard punt by Spring Valley, and quickly capitalized with a 20-yard TD toss from Wilson to Matt Murphy with 5:88 to play.
Green finished with 79 yards on 22 rushes, and Wilson was 8-for-21 passing with 92 yards. The Mountain Lions’ Kerian Pope made four sacks.
Nick Santos led Spring Valley with 79 yards on 14 carries.
