Williams returns second-half kick for score to spark Vikings over Sundevils

Valley’s Kennedy Williams opened the second half with a 79-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and the Vikings (2-2, 2-0 Northeast) went on to defeat host Eldorado (1-3, 0-2) 16-13 on Friday.

Valley’s big-play defense was crucial, with Juan Batiste’s interception ending Eldorado’s final drive. Kendrick Pratt had a fumble recovery.

The Vikings’ Anthony Sanders passed for 84 yards, including an 8-yard TD to Tyrone Prewitt in the second quarter. Freshman Dillard Davis rushed for 58 yards on 10 carries and Eric Burrell contributed three catches for 60 yards.

Eldorado’s Talib Clemente passed for 168 yards, with O’Darius Mitchell gaining 87 on four receptions.
