Wallace helps Saints down Stars

Travis Wallace ran for a touchdown, threw for another and caught a TD pass Saturday to lead Mountain View’s football team to a 28-18 victory over Agassi Prep at Rancho.

Wallace scored on a 1-yard run and caught a 7-yard TD pass from Ian Locke. He also found Adonis Morris on a 13-yard scoring play just before the half to give the Saints (2-1, 2-0 Division III Southern) the lead for good.

"(Wallace) is versatile because he's an unselfish teammate," Mountain View coach Mike Valenzuela said. "He loves stepping into different roles, and he doesn't get caught up with where I put him. He just wants to be a good friend to all his teammates."

Wallace's TD pass to Morris came with 21 seconds left in the first half, only two plays after the Saints recovered an Agassi Prep fumble at the Stars' 12-yard line.

"It brought us motivation into halftime. It was great," Wallace said of the end to the first half.

Matthew Larson, who rushed for 106 yards on 13 carries, added a 1-yard TD run for Mountain View.

Ian Moses had a 5-yard TD run, and Cajon Lakes added a 14-yard scoring run for the Stars (0-2, 0-2), who also got a 28-yard TD pass from Matthew Duty to Kendrick Glinton.

Glinton caught four passes for 109 yards.
