Virgin Valley blanks Sunrise Mountain

Virgin Valley's Richard Vidal rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries as the Bulldogs (2-4) blanked visiting Sunrise Mountain (1-6) 54-0 on Friday.

Vidal scored on first-quarter runs of 8 and 3 yards and added a 29-yard TD in the third quarter, helping the Bulldogs compile 326 yards on the ground.

Humberto Urias threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Cohen in the first quarter, and the Bulldogs also got rushing touchdowns from Daniel Gleave, Jade Jensen, Trevor Griffin and Jimmy Cannon.

Sunrise Mountain was held to 105 yards.

Bishop Gorman was crowned the high school football national champion by MaxPreps on Monday, earning the school’s fourth mythical football national title.
