Pahrump Valley (1-1, 1-1 Southwest) ended a 29-game losing streak and gained its first Class 4A victory, beating host Western (0-2, 0-2) 13-7 on Friday.
Quarterback Alexander Segura rushed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and passed for 96 yards to fuel Pahrump Valley.
Pahrump Valley hadn’t won since Aug. 30, 2008.
“It feels great. I mean what can you say. It is great to have a win,” coach Andy Schneider said.
The Trojans made a key play in the fourth quarter, stopping running back Reggie Williams on fourth-and-2 at their 19-yard line.
Jonathon Mitchell rushed for 70 yards on 20 carries and Hunter Mills gained 65 yards on four receptions.
Williams led Western with 68 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.
