Sweet’s three scores lead Gaels past Warriors

Bishop Gorman’s Justin Sweet rushed for touchdowns of 16 and 8 yards and caught a 58-yard TD pass to lead the top-ranked Gaels (5-2, 4-0 Southwest) to a 56-0 road victory over Western (1-5, 0-5) on Friday.

Jarrett Solomon’s scoring pass to Sweet was the first of six first-half touchdowns. Solomon finished 13 of 19 for 250 yards and also had second-quarter TDs of 47 yards to Ryan Smith, 26 yards to Jamir Tillman and 6 yards to Evan Zeger.

The Gaels compiled 200 rushing yard to finish with 450 total yards.

Sweet led all rushers with 111 yards on eight carries. Jordan Welte added 56 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown to cap the scoring.

Backup quarterback Makoa Tyndall threw a 4-yard TD to Joshua Hawks.
