Stahl, Butler lead Cheyenne over Faith Lutheran

Cheyenne's Kody Stahl and Jordan Butler combined for 311 yards of offense to lead the Desert Shields (2-2, 2-1 Northwest) to a 38-21 win over host Faith Lutheran (0-3, 0-3) on Thursday.

Butler rushed for 172 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown. He also caught three passes for 35 yards and a score.

Stahl passed for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

Faith Lutheran was forced to play third-string quarterback Don Pearson, who usually plays receiver and led the area with 16 catches entering Thursday’s game.

Pearson rushed for 3 yards and two touchdowns. Faith Lutheran’s John Cartier added a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 20 seconds to play.
