Solis, Cowboys rout Eagles

Chaparral quarterback Andrew Solis was 7 of 10 for 250 yards and five touchdowns Friday to lead the Cowboys over to a 65-7 homecoming win over Boulder City.
Boulder City opened the scoring on a 27-yard TD pass from Austin Wishard to Zach Murphy, only to see Chaparral reel off 65 consecutive points as the Cowboys (5-2, 3-1 Sunrise League) scored touchdowns on each of their next eight possessions.
Kentrell Petite hauled in Solis' first touchdown pass on a 17-yard reception to tie the score and Richard Nelson scored the first of his three touchdowns on the next Cowboy drive with a 5-yard TD run.
Solis connected with Casey Acosta on touchdown passes of 55 and 65 yards in the second quarter and added a 57-yard TD pass to Petite as the Cowboys exploded for 28 second quarter points and a 35-7 halftime lead.
Solis hit Ignacio Robinson for a 48-yard TD on the opening drive of the second half. Richard Nelson scored on an 84-yard kickoff return following a safety and added a 35-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. Tyler Ford hauled in a late 56-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Williamson to complete the scoring for Chaparral.
