Panthers top Shadow Ridge to remain tied for first in Northwest

Palo Verde's Brandon Wright scored four touchdowns as the No. 2 Panthers (7-0) built a 35-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 45-7 home victory over Shadow Ridge (2-4, 0-4) to remain tied with Arbor View atop the Northwest League at 5-0.
Wright scored on runs of 50, 33, 28, and 5 yards and finished with 189 yards on 16 carries. Jonathan Maxwell added 70 yards, including a 20-yard TD.
Palo Verde’s defense held Shadow Ridge to 70 yards. Joshua Symonette had two sacks and Doug Stultz one.
Garrett Dunlap kicked a 20-yard FG in the third quarter and converted six extra points for the Panthers. Garrett Rost added a 25-yard rushing TD.
Nick McDearmon threw a 30-yard TD pass to Zach Ducksworth with 8:16 remaining for Shadow Ridge’s only score.
