Pahranagat Valley routs Spring Mountain in Class 1A showdown

Jensen Jones rushed for touchdowns of 14, 7 and 10 yards as Pahranagat Valley routed visiting Spring Mountain, 72-18 in a battle for first place in the Class 1A Southern League.

The Panthers (6-0, 4-0) built a 66-6 lead in the third quarter.

Tyler Higbee added scoring runs of 6 and 5 yards in the second half. Chase Hansen caught a 16-yard TD pass from Cody Hosier and returned an interception 37 yards for another score. Kade Wadsworth added a 6-yard TD run and had a 27-yard interception return.

For Spring Mountain (5-2, 3-1), Clarence Torres scored in the fourth quarter on a 60-yard run and a 30-yard pass from Robby Lindbloom.
