Navallo, Mustangs edge Lynx

The Meadows’ Bryson Navallo had 31 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown on Thursday as the Mustangs edged host Lincoln County, 7-6.

Navallo’s 4-yard plunge in the fourth quarter gave The Meadows its only score of the game and a 7-0 lead.

Lincoln County’s Preston Robbins hauled in an 18-yard TD pass from McClain O’Connor with five minutes remaining, but the Lynx failed on their two-point conversion.

The Meadows’ Jack Berkley had six carries for 18 yards and two receptions for 11 yards, and quarterback Jacob Gleason finished 6 of 14 for 34 yards.

Robbins had 38 rushing yards and 42 receiving yards for the Lynx, and O’Connor was 10 of 21 for 111 yards.
