Moniz, Skyhawks top Pirates

Silverado's Savon Moniz threw three touchdown passes and Izaiah Thurmon and Steven Scamorza each topped 100 yards rushing and scored a TD, leading the Skyhawks (4-3) to a 38-19 home victory over Moapa Valley (3-4) on Friday.

Silverado’s defense allowed only 26 yards rushing and recorded six sacks.

Thurmon ran for 119 yards. Scamorza had 114 and also made an interception on defense.

Moapa Valley wide receiver Hayden Cooper had 70 yards receiving and threw a 48-yard TD pass.
