Madu-Jules powers Silverado past Valley

Silverado has multiple weapons in its potent rushing attack, but Terran Madu-Jules was the most powerful force against Valley on Friday night.

The senior running back scored three touchdowns while rushing for 199 yards on 23 carries as the seventh-ranked Skyhawks rolled to a 41-0 victory at Valley.

Madu-Jules twice bowled in from 2 yards in the first quarter to give the Skyhawks (2-0) a 14-0 lead. He added a 64-yard score in the fourth.

Silverado led 27-0 at halftime, helped by Steven Scamorza’s 14-yard TD run and field goals of 22 and 35 yards by Brandon Romero.

After rushing for 458 yards as a junior, Madu-Jules has 440 through two games, helping the Skyhawks pile up 83 points against Chaparral and Valley.

Silverado totaled 416 yards of offense, 368 on the ground. Tyler Anderson rushed for 83 on seven carries, and Scamorza finished with 38 yards and two touchdowns.

The Skyhawks’ defense was just as impressive, holding Valley (0-2) to 163 yards while pressuring quarterback Dean Wallace. The Vikings never passed Silverado’s 41-yard line.

Ladale Jackson and Sonny Licata both intercepted Wallace, while Kyle Anderson and Sincere Hill recorded sacks.

Jackson led the Vikings with 58 yards on seven carries and was 5 of 15 for 57 yards passing. Garic Wharton ran six times for 24 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards.
