Leavitt tosses four TD passes as Bulldogs top Miners

Virgin Valley's Garrett Leavitt threw for 197 yards and four touchdowns in the first half as the Bulldogs rolled to a 60-28 road win over Sunrise Mountain on Thursday.

DeVonte Milligan finished with three receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns for Virgin Valley (7-2, 3-2 Sunrise). Most of his damage came on special teams and defense.

Milligan had the Bulldogs’ first two scores, a 55-yard punt return and a 42-yard interception return, to make it 14-6.

Virgin Valley did the majority of its damage in the first half. Leavitt threw two touchdowns apiece to Tony Urias and Dillon Graves. Urias finished with 43 yards receiving, and Graves added 70 yards receiving.

The Bulldogs took a 54-20 lead into halftime and played conservatively the rest of the way.

Dee Bowler had five carries for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and Harold Caswell added 66 yards and a score on the ground.

Sherman Nash did everything he could for Sunrise Mountain (1-8, 0-5 Sunrise), scoring three of the Miners’ four touchdowns. He finished with 129 yards rushing and 56 yards receiving. His two rushing touchdowns went for 60 and 68 yards, and his touchdown reception in the third quarter was 46 yards.

Romello Tatum had a 86-yard kickoff return in the first quarter for the Miners.
