Late touchdown gives Shadow Ridge first win

Shadow Ridge’s Nick Krueger recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and the Mustangs (1-5, 1-4 Northwest) defeated host Mojave 13-9 on Friday.

It was Shadow Ridge’s second blocked punt of the game. Daryl Scott rushed for 65 yards for the Mustangs, and Michael Tootle had an 11-yard TD run.

Mojave (2-4, 1-4) drove to the Shadow Ridge 15 in the final two minutes, but the Rattlers were out of timeouts and couldn’t score.

Ronald Adams rushed for 77 yards to lead Mojave. Clarence Prophet scored on a 1-yard run and Chris Gorges kicked a 22-yard field goal.
