Late defensive stand seals win for Crusaders

Faith Lutheran (2-4, 2-3 Northwest) sealed a 15-9 victory over Mojave (1-5, 0-5) with a defensive stand in the final minute on Thursday.

Trailing 9-7, Faith Lutheran scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 7-yard pass from Gino DeGeorge to Anthony Pryatel-Farmer, and DeGeorge threw to Hayden Solis for the 2-point conversion.

Shawn Balva enabled the possession with a fumble recovery at the Mojave 9.

Mojave tried to rally with a drive to the 2, but after a false start penalty and two 1-yard runs, an incompletion ended the march.

The Rattlers scored in the second half on Bryant Lewis’ 37-yard field goal and Clarence Prophet’s 9-yard run. Phophet had 87 yards on 17 carries.

Pryatel-Farmer had six catches for 79 yards and DeGeorge was 11-of-15 in the second half, including a 3-yard TD to Trent Dolby.
