Jocquez Kalili scored four first-half touchdowns Thursday to lead host Desert Oasis’ football team to a 53-0 win over Del Sol.
Kalili, who rushed for 234 yards, opened the scoring with touchdown runs of 2 and 3 yards, then ended the first half with back-to-back scoring runs of 71 and 82 yards. Blake Kutz ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries for Desert Oasis (1-0), including one of 57 yards in the first half. The Diamondbacks racked up 463 yards rushing.
Quarterback Richie Stammetti competed 5 of 7 passes for 81 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown to Gary Abdella during the first quarter.
Desert Oasis held Del Sol (0-2) to 152 yards of offense. Hunter Amos picked off Del Sol quarterback Aaron Williamson on the second play of the game. Running back Austin Higgins was the bright spot for Del Sol as he ran for 78 yards on 19 carries.
