Interception return seals victory for Desert Shields

Cheyenne's Quashon Haynes returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown with 9:58 remaining to clinch a 28-13 road victory over Mojave on Friday.

Kenneth Counts led Cheyenne (3-4, 2-4) with 86 yards rushing, including a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Desert Shields compiled 296 yards on the ground.

Mojave quarterback Trevonte Veal was 17 of 39 for 251 yards and a touchdown. Bryant Lewis had 138 yards receiving and also ran for a touchdown.
