Hubert, Pirates beat Bulldogs

R.J. Hubert caught eight passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns on Friday and ran for 26 yards on two carries as Moapa Valley blanked host Virgin Valley, 34-0.

Trystin Deal rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on eight carries, and Sterling Simmons had 99 yards and a touchdown on nine carries for Moapa Valley (5-2, 3-1 Sunrise League), which led 14-0 at halftime. Simmons' 95-yard touchdown run put Moapa Valley on the board with 9:04 left in the second quarter.

Nate Cox, who ran for 56 yards and a touchdown, also finished 14 of 22 passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

Derek Cope had two interceptions on defense for the Pirates.

Virgin Valley fell to 3-4, 1-3.
