Homecoming king Hayes leads Jaguars to victory over Vikings

Desert Pines' Leon Hayes returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, ran for two scores and returned an interception 29 yards for another TD — and was voted homecoming king — as the Jaguars (2-4, 2-2 Northeast) blanked visiting Valley (2-4, 2-2) 35-0 on Thursday.
Hayes ran for first-half TDs of 62 and 16 yards and finished with 108 yards on 10 carries. Eric Wilkes rushed for 86 yards, including a 3-yard score, and Iquan Corsey passed for 88 yards while making two interceptions on defense.
For Valley, Bryon Peeples gained 66 yards on 13 carries.
