Gosse guides Mustangs past Bobcats

The Meadows' Garrett Gosse passed for 317 yards and four touchdowns, and the Mustangs (3-2, 3-0 2A Southern) held off a rally to defeat visiting White Pine (1-4, 1-2) 36-33 on Friday night.
Gosse connected with Max Newman for touchdowns of 22 and 30 yards and Austin Brown for 13 and 58 yards while building a 36-13 halftime lead.
Chase Marrs also ran 70 yards for a touchdown on the Mustangs’ first play from scrimmage.
White Pine awoke in the third quarter, scoring on a 47-yard run by Levi Valdez, a 12-yard fumble return by Zach Snow and a 30-yard pass from Josh Ashby to Jake Johnson.
Brown intercepted a pass late in the fourth quarter to preserve the win for The Meadows. He finished with six receptions for 141 yards. Marrs ran nine times for 100 yards.
