Gaels score quickly, roll past Trailblazers

Biaggio Ali-Walsh rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns Friday as Bishop Gorman rolled to a 69-7 home win over Durango.

Gorman (7-0, 1-0 Southwest League) wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring on their first play from scrimmage — a 70-yard run from Ali-Walsh just 19 seconds into the game.

The Gaels scored touchdowns on their next five first-quarter drives to take a 41-0 lead at the end of the opening period.

Tate Martell found Brandon Gahagan for a 24-yard touchdown pass to start the second quarter, extending the Gaels' lead to 48-0 with10:25 left in the first half.

Martell finished 6 of 8 for 107 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half. Gahagan had two receptions for 38 yards and two touchdowns.

Troy Wilewski broke a 61-yard touchdown run on Bishop Gorman's last drive of the second quarter, giving the Gaels a 55-0 halftime lead.

Backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson opened the Gaels' third-quarter scoring on a 20-yard keeper with 6:35 to play.

Durango (0-7, 0-1) scored its only touchdown of the night on a 38-yard pass from Jonathan Scofield to Marquelle Diggs.

Scofield finished 8 of 18 for 70 yards. The Trailblazers recorded just four first downs.

Gorman's Ahmere Allen scored the game's final touchdown on a 10 yard run with 4:36 to play.
