First-half TD pass enough to lift Silverado over Coronado
Silverado's Savon Moniz threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Deandre Gause late in the first half, and the Skyhawks (2-4, 1-3 Southeast) hung on for a 7-0 win over host Coronado (2-4, 0-4) on Thursday.
Izaiah Thurmon rushed for 132 yards on 22 carries, and Moniz finished with 66 yards passing, guiding Silverado to its first league win.
Coronado’s Christopher Johnson rushed for 102 yards on 12 carries before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with leg cramps.
