Eldorado tops Chaparral in Cleat Game

Eldorado's Daytron Green ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Sundevils (1-6, 1-2 Northeast) to a 33-6 win over visiting Chaparral (0-7, 0-4) in the Cleat Game on Friday night.
Green carried 31 times, scoring on runs of 7, 3, and 14 yards to key a rivalry win that gives Eldorado possession of Merlin Olsen’s cleat.
Junior JaQuorrey Williams completed 5 of 7 passes for 50 yards and also ran for 44 yards and scores of 39 yards and 1 yard.
The Eldorado defense forced five first-half turnovers, including four interceptions. Joseph Ortega picked off two passes, and linebacker Tyler Nelson had an interception and recovered a fumble.
Chaparral’s Zachary Luciano completed 8 of 19 passes for 102 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown to Jacob Gallen with 1:21 left.
