Desert Shields score 50 points in final three quarters to rout Crusaders

Eighth-ranked Cheyenne (4-0, 3-0 Northwest) overcame challenging first-half field position and 21 penalties to score 50 points in the final three quarters on the way to a 50-9 road win over Faith Lutheran on Friday.

Cheyenne got more than 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns apiece from Tyler Spight and Kenneth Counts on their way to a 400-yard night on the ground.

Faith Lutheran (1-3, 1-3) scored on a safety on the second play of the game and twice pinned the Desert Shields inside their own 3-yard line, but struggled to take advantage. The Crusaders’ Gino DeGeorge passed for 151 yards and Trey Jasonek ran for a touchdown.
