Reggie Williams threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Buckley on a flea flicker play with 4:42 remaining Friday to help Western’s football team pull away for a 20-14 victory at Pahrump Valley.
The TD gave Western (3-6, 2-6 Southwest League) a 20-7 lead, and the Warriors held on to hand Pahurmp (0-10, 0-8) its 28th straight loss.
Pahrump’s A.J. Segura hit Cody Keasling for a 26-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the game.
Tadarrel Mason carried 14 times for 100 yards for Western, and teammate Allen Davis rushed for 89 yards on nine attempts, including TDs of 4 and 6 yards.
Segura, a freshman, completed 11 of 19 passes for 141 yards.
The six-point difference was the closest game the Trojans have played since a 14-7 loss to Mojave in the 2009 season.
