Crusaders top Spring Valley, finish undefeated in Sunset League

Faith Lutheran senior Robby Schwartz had two interceptions and the Crusaders held the Spring Valley to 9 of 35 passing to close the season with a 38-14 home victory.

Faith Lutheran (8-1, 7-0 Sunset League) scored 38 unanswered points. Brenden Joyce completed 10 of 21 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns to help compensate for a rushing offense that managed just 16 yards in the first half and 90 for the game.

Sophomores Elijah Kothe (4 receptions for 50 years) and Josh Hong (4 for 47) were Joyce's main targets.

Spring Valley (5-4, 3-4) got 123 yards on the ground and 136 through the air, but struggle dto finish off opportunities. Raheem Edmonds led the Grizzlies with 45 yards on 13 carries, and Antony Vazquez had seven receptions for 103 yards.

Faith Lutheran seniors Christian Khoury and Don Guiliano each had a fumble recovry, and Khoury had two sacks. Christian Marshall had rushing TDs of 7, 26 and 37 yards.
