Bishop Gorman’s Biaggio Ali Walsh chooses Cal

Bishop Gorman running back Biaggio Ali Walsh committed to play at California on Sunday.

Ali Walsh also reportedly had scholarship offers from several other schools, including Arizona, Colorado, Louisville, San Diego State and UNLV. He announced his commitment via Twitter.

“I’ve discussed with my family and I am blessed to say I am committed to California Berkeley!!” Ali Walsh tweeted.

Ali Walsh, the grandson of former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, was the Review-Journal’s Male Athlete of the Year for the 2015-2016 school year. He rushed for 2,451 yards and 33 touchdowns last season as a junior, helping the Gaels to a seventh consecutive state championship.

Ali Walsh averaged 12.1 yards per carry, and the Gaels finished the season ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today for the second consecutive year.
