Agassi Prep mauls Lions

Stephan Laushaul ran for 130 yards and accounted for three touchdowns as the Agassi Prep football team routed host Calvary Chapel 51-0 on Friday night in a Division III Southern League game.

Laushaul scored on a 44-yard run and a 56-yard touchdown run in the second quarter as part of the Stars’ 35-point outburst. Laushaul also had a 61-yard interception return for a score on the second play of the game to set the tone.

Agassi Prep (3-1 overall, 2-0 Southern League), which did all of its scoring in the first half, manhandled the Lions on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Calvary Chapel (0-3, 0-2) committed four turnovers and finished with minus-93 yards rushing.

The Lions’ longest play from scrimmage was a 9-yard scramble by quarterback Christian O’Kelley on the final drive of the game. Calvary Chapel managed only four first downs, three of them by penalty.

O’Kelley finished 8-for-16 for 30 yards and was intercepted three times.

Jordan Parker ran for 76 yards and two touchdowns for Agassi Prep. Parker scored on a 71-yard run with 2:25 remaining in the second quarter to put the Stars on top 44-0, and he added a 2-yard TD run only 33 seconds later. The second score was set up by Kobe Williams’ 49-yard interception return.

Williams added a 23-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. Agassi Prep rushed for 268 yards and did not attempt a pass.

Torian Ross added a special-teams score midway through the second quarter when pounced on a fumble in the end zone after a bad punt snap.
