Outlook: Last year’s eight-win season left expectations high for the Longhorns heading into the 2017 campaign, but they will have to replace their top player.

Gone is Samuel Turner, the Northwest League Offensive MVP and an all-state running back who accounted for much of the team’s offense last season. He rushed for 1,934 yards and 24 TDs.

Though Turner will be hard to replace, the Longhorns feature an experienced offensive line with three returning starters, led by first-team All-Northwest League pick Smith.

Amorey Foster is an explosive athlete who averaged 15.4 yards on 19 carries with six total TDs last season. He should get plenty of touches this season.

Valenzuela is back at quarterback after throwing for 985 yards and 10 TDs last season.

Amere Foster (43 tackles) and Amorey Foster (36 tackles) return to key the defense.
