Roundup: Summer Gibson’s TD pass sends Valley past Canyon Springs

Summer Gibson threw two touchdown passes, including a 15-yard strike to Sol Gonzalez-Pacheco in overtime, to give Valley’s flag football team a 13-6 home win over Canyon Springs on Wednesday afternoon.

Dominique Diaz also caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Gibson for Valley.

Bonanza 31, Desert Oasis 7 — At Desert Oasis, Cindylou Rasiang completed 9 of 20 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns in the Bengals’ convincing victory over the Diamondbacks.

Alexis Marquez caught four passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and Shayne Dunn and Michelle Troncoso each had a touchdown catch for Bonanza. Charlene Beck also ran for a score for the Bengals, who led 19-7 at halftime.

Makayla Rickard threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Aniyah Reed for Desert Oasis.

Sierra Vista 26, Durango 13 — At Sierra Vista, Jamie Kalaau-Sunia caught two touchdown passes to lead the Mountain Lions over the Trailblazers.

Mia Buranamontri caught a touchdown pass, and Jazmyn Martinez had a touchdown run for Sierra Vista.

Jaden Brown rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown to lead Durango, and teammate Gabriela Corchado had three catches for 59 yards and a score.

Virgin Valley 32, Moapa Valley 8 — At Mesquite, Katie Zuniga had 16 carries for 91 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs past the Pirates.

Kallie Graves completed 9 of 16 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown to Makenzie Leishman. Graves also ran for a team-high 108 yards and a score for Virgin Valley.

Alexis Peay completed 16 of 26 passes for 206 yards, including a touchdown pass to Alexis Schraft to lead Moapa Valley.

Chaparral 26, Tech 15 — At Tech, the Cowboys scored a pair of second-half touchdowns to beat the Roadrunners.

The game was tied at 13 at the half.

Maria Galindo and Jacquelinne Canas-Rodriguez each scored a first-half touchdown for Tech, which managed only a safety after halftime.

Clark 39, Spring Valley 6 — At Clark, Jagayra Gomes threw three touchdowns and ran for a score to lead the Chargers to a rout of the Grizzlies.

Katlynn Avila, Crystal Diaz and Jaeda Centeno each caught a touchdown, and Autumn Flowers and Samantha Malley had a rushing touchdown for Clark, which led 19-0 at halftime.

Julie Quidilla caught a touchdown for Spring Valley.

Del Sol 33, Boulder City 13 — At Del Sol, Stephanie Tewart threw two touchdown passes and ran for two scores as the Dragons downed the Eagles.

Stewart connected with Cora Butorac for touchdown passes of 21 and 37 yards, and one for 35 yards to Saleena Quichocho for Del Sol. Tarika Poullard supplied a 3-yard touchdown run for the Dragons.

Nikki Meleo and Nicole Valle each ran for a touchdown for Boulder City. Meleo also had 12 tackles and an interception to lead the defense.

Las Vegas 35, Rancho 24 — At Rancho, Kaitlyn Horstdaniel was 20-for-26 passing for 310 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Wildcats by the Rams.

Natalie Gennuso caught nine passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns, and Morgan Adamsonhad four catches for 48 yards and two scores for Las Vegas High.

Jessica Garay (12 tackles) and Blanca Mendoza (10 tackles) led the Wildcats’ defense.
