FLAG FOOTBALL: Luke’s late TD lifts Spartans over Bulldogs

Jaymee Luke scored the winning touchdown on a 17-yard run with 35 seconds left in the game Thursday to lift Cimarron-Memorial’s flag football team to a 27-21 home victory over Centennial.

With the score tied at 21-21, the Spartans stopped Centennial on fourth-and-goal from the 20. After a short gain, Luke completed a 39-yard pass to Logan DeLong. Luke scored on the next play.

Luke rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries and completed 13 of 23 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown.

DeLong caught six passes for 74 yards, and Jessie Sanchez-Griswold caught a touchdown pass for Cimarron.

Zshalyn Canfield completed 15 of 27 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns for Centennial. Ashley Marshall ran for a touchdown, and Tiana Bonds and Courtney Reeves each hauled in a TD pass for the Bulldogs.

Bonds caught five passes for 78 yards.

Foothill 42, Chaparral 13 — At Foothill, Sam Fennell threw four touchdowns to help the Falcons top the Cowboys.

Fennell completed 25 of 42 passes for 286 yards. Emily Russell caught 15 passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns for Foothill.

RaeAnn Brems threw for one score and added a TD reception for the Falcons, who also got a receiving touchdown from Korina Bush and a rushing TD from Jadyn McArthur.

Tatiana Kirkwood had a 60-yard TD run for Chaparral.

Legacy 39, Clark 12 — At Legacy, Avi’Ana Shelton rushed for 192 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries as the Longhorns defeated the Chargers.

Shardell Purdy completed 11 of 17 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns for Legacy.

Desert Oasis 26, Bonanza 6 — At Desert Oasis, Kylee Bauer tossed three touchdowns to help the Diamondbacks down the Bengals.

Bauer completed 8 of 19 passes for 166 yards.

Kayla Saucedo rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries and caught a touchdown pass for Desert Oasis, which also got TD receptions from Sydni Aldan and Ashlyn Lee.

Brianna Hernandez threw a touchdown to Ty Baskerfield for Bonanza.

Coronado 12, Del Sol 7 — At Coronado, Lauren Pleimann rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown to help the Cougars top the Dragons.

Heaven Lucero added 56 yards and a touchdown on the ground for Coronado.

Eldorado 13, Basic 0 — At Eldorado, Shelby Johnson rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries to lead the Sundevils by the Wolves.

Keelyn Pacheco completed 11 of 21 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown for Eldorado.
