ROUNDUP: Coss, Tech win girls meet

Tech’s Taylor Coss placed first Tuesday to lead the host Roadrunners to a win over Silverado and Adelson School.

Coss won the 2.45-mile race in 18 minutes, 3 seconds, followed by Claudia Perez (18:06), Mariah Millette (18:33) and Tarrayna Grieves (19:28).

Coronado takes top five spots to win three-team meet
At Sonata Park, Coronado scored a perfect 15 on the way to a win over Basic (52) and Del Sol (80).

Lauren Lucas won on the 2.8-mile course in 19:15.6 to lead Coronado, which had the top nine finishers.

The Cougars’ Erin Smith was second (19:18.9) and Krystal Hosaka (20:26.1) third.

Gators edge Foothill to win tri-meet
At Foothill, Green Valley scored 27 points to top Foothill (31) and Boulder City (75).

Foothill’s Sage Long (17:14.8) was second and Cheyanne Jones (17:16.9) third on the 2.5-mile course.

Liberty’s Joslyn Evans was the individual winner in 17:14.1.

Depth leads Chaparral to win
At Chaparral, the host Cowboys won despite not having any runners in the top three.

Chaparral scored 30 points, followed by Desert Pines (37) and Canyon Springs (53).

Heather Hollinger won in 16:56 to lead Canyon Springs on the 2.5-mile course.

Desert Pines’ Marisa Denton (18:15) was second and Alma Avila (18:35) third.

Desert Oasis wins tri-meet
At Pahrump, Desert Oasis placed three runners in the top five to finish with 26 points, beating Durango (37) and Pahrump Valley (74).

Durango’s Stacie Mitchell won the 2.65mile race in 17:25, with Desert Oasis’ Lizenda Licea-Diaz finishing second.

Shadow Ridge tops Palo Verde, Mojave
At Palo Verde, Shadow Ridge took four of the top six spots to finish first with 25 points.

Palo Verde was second with 31, and Mojave didn’t have a team score.

Palo Verde’s Kelsi Koch won the 2.8-mile race in 19:51. Shadow Ridge’s Elaina Vlassopoulos was second in 20:05.
