League: Class 4A Southwest

Head coach: Rick Barry, third season

Returning lettermen: Five

Top athletes: Andrea Godinez (So.), Paige Landers (Fr.), Andrea Santamaria (Jr.), Isabella Grazide (Jr.), Anny Acosta (Jr.), Tatiana Baes (So.)

Outlook: The Trailblazers are young and still building.

“Last season, Durango finished with five runners in the region meet, giving the girls a scoring team,” Barry said. “This season, our girls team has grown with a core nucleus of girls that work hard and enjoy being a team.

“We hope to have a better showing with our team and run in seven in regionals and hope to fina runner or two to make state as individuals.”
